Personal information
Stephan Hartmann is Chair of Philosophy of Science, Co-director of the Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy, and Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Philosophy of Science and Religious Studies at LMU. Moreover, he is an external member of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences. He researches and teaches on questions in general philosophy of science, philosophy of physics, formal epistemology and formal philosophy of science, social epistemology, and (Bayesian) cognitive science. His current research interests include the philosophy of open quantum systems, the philosophy and psychology of reasoning and argumentation, and models of deliberation.
